RUNNING HEROES LAUNCHING IN UNITED KINGDOM
Running Heroes is Looking for Winners
Running Heroes wants runners to know that they can participate in a sport they love, connect online with others, and win. The 1st website rewarding platform for runners launched in the UK.
Launched in March 2014 in Paris, Running Heroes has attracted over 200.000 members in France, 20.000 members in the UK (launched in June 2015) and 12.000 members in Australia (launched in May 2015). Running Heroes wants to change the sedentary lifestyle by encouraging people to go out and practice sport more and more. Following the success in the running community, the startup has launched Cycling Heroes and Skiing Heroes in France and is about to do the same in the UK and Australia.
Running Heroes is the first website to reward everyday athletes.
Millions of people run, exercise, hit the ball, swim, play golf, ride, stay fit by making an effort day after day, every weekend. The French based startup had the brilliant idea to reward sports enthusiasts who get out and move by collaborating with top tier brand partners, who have entered the game and teamed up to offer them gifts for their running efforts.
THE IDEA IS SIMPLE
Gather several partner companies from the running industry and have them offer discounts or free products in exchange for brand visibility with a growing targeted community. The running data measured by a GPS device or applications automatically transfers to Running Heroes after each running session and turned into points. With their points the runners have access to rewards offered by dozens of running brands.
THE USER AT THE HEART OF THE EXPERIENCE
All it takes is three steps for runners to get moving with the program:
1/Create a free account on runningheroes.com
2/Link your account with one of the partners’ applications (Garmin Connect, Nike+, Runtastic, Strava, Runkeeper, MapMyRun, Endomondo and Polar).
3/Go for a run!
The synchronization of the apps happen automatically after each of the runs, initiated using a GPS device or application.
Each synchronized running session is turned into points based on its distance, duration, elevation and speed as well as the gender and age of the runner in an effort to fairly reward efforts. The rewards include discount codes for sport products such as equipment and accessories but also care products, nutrition and dietary products or subscriptions to specialised magazines. Some of the biggest players in the running industry have already partnered with Running Heroes including Nike, Adidas, Asics, New Balance, Mizuno, Saucony, Brooks, Reebok and Skins.
